Howard Hodgkin first visited India in 1964. He fell in love with the country and visited most years right up until his death earlier this year. The exhibition features gouaches, editioned prints and hand-coloured impressions from the last fifty years, some of which were made during the time he taught at Bath Academy of Art (1955-66).
It includes a range of Hodgkin's Indian-themed works on paper, the Indian Views (1971), large scale prints such as Delhi, Heat and In India (2012) and the Indian Waves series from 1990-91 which were painted onto sheets of handmade Indian paper.
Every Thursday, 19 October to 21 December, a tour will take place between 12:30-13:00 which is included in the price of a ticket.
